Overview - Project Samples

Some sample software development project we have done for some of our clients icluded the following applications:

Income and Commissions Accounting
Designed and coded an income and commissions tracking system that automated the payment of bonus dollars on a monthly basis to over 500 collections staff employees. This process was previously done by hand (pen and paper). Instituting this new software resolved all human errors and eliminated 85 employee hours per month.

This application suite was written in Visual Basic 6.0 with some support libraries written in C#. That data source utilised was SQL Server 2000, and employed the usage of triggers, stored procedures, and custom functions.

Employee Management and Tracking System
Developed an employee management system that encompassed the entire employee lifecycle from interview to termination. Software was a complete 3 tier system utilizing an SQL 2000 backend, written in VB6.

The primary application employed the use of 'wrapping' developed PHP pages within the VB interface. This system saved $23,000 annually in software licensing that was being paid for the system that was replaced. Application set currently supports over 700 active users, with over 500+ workstation installs.

Time and Attendance Application Suite
Developed a suite of applications encompassing the submission of work schedules, desktop time-clock, attendance tracking and reporting, shift coverage workflows, and payroll integration with Microsoft Solomon. Technologies employed for this project consisted of VB6, VB.Net, ASP.Net, PHP, and custom Active X interfaces.

The application suite employed reporting interfaces developed within Crystal Reports, as well as Active Reports. Data sources for this application suite consisted of SQL Server 7, and independant Microsoft Access databases. This project helped to eliminate more than $10,000 per year in license fees, as well as countless man hours.

Collections System CRM
Assisted in design, coding and conception of an enterprise replacement, accounts receivable application. This application served as a debt collections and tracking interface with full CRM capabilities. The project included capabilities for receivables management, b2b file transfers and transactions, invoicing, financial reconciliation for interest bearing accounts, one click dial integration with an existing Avaya phone switch. A skiptrace management interface, workflow management interface, and Bank Wire trasfer system were also part of the application design.

Some of the technologies employed for the development of this n-tier application were Visual Basic 6, C#, PHP, as well as Avaya scripting and VBscript. The data sources used by this application consisted of a clustered SQL Server 2000 backend, legacy interaction with Jbase data files, and Oracle.

Overall with 700+ active users this project eliminated over $264,000.00 in annual licensing and support costs. It is also assumed that the functionality included helped raise efficiency and productivity of the entire employee base by 12%.
